Committees
The Committees of Temple Beth Zion welcome your participation. For information on joining any of our committees, please e-mail our President president@tbz.org.
- Audit - Reviews the annual internal and/or outside financial statements of the Temple.
- Caring Community - Coordinates the “God’s Unfinished Business” program.
- Cultural Arts - Plans and arranges special musical and cultural events
- Development - Solicits long-term contributions to enable us to maintain and enhance our vitality and ability to serve our members. Includes the Rabbi Joseph and Janice Fink Legacy Society.
- Engagement - Responsible for making sure all congregants feel connected and supported in their relationship with Temple Beth Zion and their practice of Judaism. Develops initiatives to build meaningful and fulfilling connections between our members through our programming.
- Financial Planning - encompasses budget, collections, fundraising and investments, endowments and normal financial review.
- Governance - Nominates trustees and officers, orients new board members, creates opportunities for trustee development, and identifies future committee and board members.
- Kol Nidre - Oversees our annual fund raising campaign
- Library - Coordinates the operation of our library.
- Lifelong Learning - Oversees educational programs from early childhood through adult learning and sets the annual education vision and goals. The committee has representatives from four working subcommittees: Early Childhood, Religious School, Youth and Adult Education
- Personnel - Reviews, develops and recommends to the Board personnel policies and practices of the Congregation, including matters dealing with employee benefits, staffing patterns, professional development and compensation
- Ritual - In partnership with the Senior Rabbi and the other clergy, develops and recommends policies affecting religious ceremonies and mode of worship
- Summer Celebration - Oversees the planning and running of our Golf Tournament, Wine Tour and all day party at Transit Valley Country Club.
