Deny Adelman

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2015

Deny Adelman is a 4th generation TBZ Member currently residing in Lancaster with his wife Aliesa and daughter Lyric. Deny is President of Working Knowledge, a national telecommunication cabling and communications firm. Deny currently Chairs the Communications and Golf Tournament Committees and has been active in other Temple initiatives including Technology, Archives, Habitat for Humanity and Landscaping. 

Outside of Temple, Deny enjoys time with his family, traveling, woodworking, boating, hiking and staying actively engaged in numerous community projects and organizations including InfoTech Niagara, Brush Up Buffalo, and the Educational Technology Foundation of WNY to which Deny is currently the Vice President.

Warren Clark

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2014

Warren's family has a long-standing relationship with Temple Beth Zion, beginning with his Great Grandmother in the late 1800s. Currently, Warren serves as the Chair of the Ritual Committee and is a member of the Golf Tournament Committee. He has also served on the Membership Committee and the Senior Rabbi Search Committee.

Warren is a longtime local board member of the Better Business Bureau. He has served as the Board's Chair as well as serving fourteen years on the National BBB Board, the last 8 years as Treasurer. He has extensive experience on various committees and events throughout the community.

Warren and his wife, Lynn, are the proud parents of Julie and Jeff.

Adina Garfinkel

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2015

Adina attended TBZ Religious School as a child and rejoined the temple 3 years ago. Adina co-chairs the Caring Community with her mother, a longstanding temple member. Adina is an active member of the Social Action Committee. Most recently, she participated in the temple's Senior Rabbi Search Committee.

Outside of temple, Adina is in a committed relationship with her partner of 3 years, Marcia Maracle. They live in North Buffalo with their 6 year-old rescue pug, Archie.

Adina has worked for 13 years as a case manager for the Erie County Department of Senior Services. She serves on the WNY Coalition for the Homeless, the Council for Elder Abuse and is on the newly created Erie County Hoarding Task Force.

David Goldberg

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2013

David was born in Buffalo, and is the oldest of four sons of Shepard & Sheila Goldberg. He is a graduate of the Amherst Central School system, and attended Purdue University. After college, he began a career in the restaurant industry, which took him to Detroit Michigan, Cleveland Ohio, and Rochester. He then settled back in Buffalo to raise a family.

David is married to Susan Schrutt Goldberg, a lifelong member of Temple Beth Zion. They are the proud parents of Joshua. David has two older sons from a previous marriage, Austin and Tristan, who are also Buffalo Residents. David and Susan live in Amherst, and Joshua also attends the Amherst School system.

David is currently the Vice President of Choice Employee Benefits Group LLC. David is a broker for group insurance for small and medium sized businesses, including health, dental, life and disability. He has been in the insurance industry for over 13 years, including time with MetLife and MONY.

Cindy Algase Gradl

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2015

Cindy, a Buffalo native, is Special Counsel with Damon Morey, where she focuses much of her attention on tax, employment, general business counseling, financial transactions, intellectual property and securities regulation.  Cindy joined Temple Beth Zion in 2002 and is currently a member of the TBZ Board of Trustees and is an active member of the Lifelong Learning and the Ritual Committees and is currently co-chairing the Congregational Planning Committee. Cindy is married to Wayne, also an attorney, and has two children, Dana, a graduate of Michigan State University, and Alec, a junior at Williamsville North High School, both of whom have blown Shofar at TBZ.

Robyn Meyer

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2014

When Robyn and her husband Joe decided to join a Temple, they felt the choice was clear. As an interfaith couple, Rabbi Goldberg married them and becoming part of the Temple Beth Zion community was the next logical step. Robyn and her family have been members of TBZ for over 20 years.

Robyn has participated on numerous committees and also had the honor of serving on the Temple Board of Trustees in the past. One of her favorite roles at TBZ was as a teacher in the Religious School where she taught 3rd grade and Pre-K for 10 years. Robyn has served on the Youth and Education Committee since joining TBZ and is the current Chairperson. While certified as a teacher, for over 30 years Robyn's has focused her career in the field of mental health. Robyn and Joe are the very proud parents of Daniel and Emily Dobies and reside in the Town of Tonawanda.

Randall M. Odza

The Odza famiy have been members of TBZ since the August 2003. Randy and his wife Rita make their home in East Amherst. They have two children and four grandchildren.  Randy is an Attorney with Jaeckle, Fleischmann and Mugel, as part of the firm's Labor and Employment Practice Area.  Randy was instrumental in the 2009 update of the Temple Beth Zion Compilation of Personnel Policies.

Jacqueline Oestreicher

Jackie serves on the Board of Trustees as a representative of the Temple's Youth Group, TBaZY.

Kenneth Polk

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2014

Ken Polk is a life-long member of TBZ.  He was confirmed in 1985, his mother was confirmed in 1956 and his grandfather in 1929.  Ken most recently served on the Senior Rabbi Search Committee and has been involved with Mitzvah Day over the last 10 years with his family.  Ken and his wife Cara have three children: sons Mitchell and Jordan and daughter Leah who all attend TBZ's religious school. 

Outside of TBZ, Ken coaches his kids in basketball and soccer and just completed a 10-year term on the St. Lawrence University's Alumni Executive Council, the last two years as its president. Ken works for Automatic Data Processing (ADP) where he has been in sales and sales management for over 16 years.

Kenneth A. Rogers

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2015

A resident of the Elmwood Village area of Buffalo, Ken has been a part of TBZ for most of his life. Ken's parents, Louis and Pauline Rogers, became members in the 1950s. Ken and his wife, Kathleen Corff Rogers, have two sons, Matt and Alex. Ken is a self-employed Management Strategy Consultant.

This is Ken's second stint on the Board of TBZ. He has led planning initiatives (e.g. youth and education), started and chaired the Senior Rabbi Liaison Committee (4 years), been a Vice President and served on the Executive Committee.

Recently Ken chaired the Governance Task Force and helped to re-shape the board and leadership approach, including a complete revision of the TBZ by-laws. Ken served the past two years as Co-Chair of the Kol Nidre Campaign. This past year Ken's major challenge has been leading the Board of Trustees through a strategic visioning process. 

In addition to all of his activities at Temple Beth Zion, Ken serves on the Board of Trustees of Weinberg Campus, is the Chair of the Richmond Ashland National Historic District Initiative and is a Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo UJF Division Co-Chair.

Howard Rosenhoch

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2014

Howard, along with his wife Valerie and sons Alan and David, have been members of Temple Beth Zion since 1997.  Howard has served on TBZ's Youth Vision Task Force, the Youth and Education Committee, and has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2004.  Howard co-chaired the Kol Nidre Campaign from 2007-2009. He was Treasurer and Chair of the Financial Planning Committee from 2007 to 2009, and currently serves as TBZ's Immediate Past President.

Howard grew up in the Inwood Hill section of Manhattan in New York City.  He came to Buffalo in 1967 as an undergraduate at UB, where he and Valerie met.  Except for a two year stint back in New York City for graduate school in the early 70's, Howard and Valerie have made Buffalo their family home.  Howard has been a partner in the Buffalo law firm Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, LLP since 1980.

Howard is a past board member and president of Hillel of Buffalo, an at large board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo where he serves on the Campaign Cabinet, and is a long time board member and current treasurer of the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyer's Project.

Amy R. Schaefer

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2013

The newest member of the Board of Trustees, Amy has been active as the Chair of the Membership Committee. She has facilitated member discussion groups as a way to better understand members' views so the needs of our diverse community can be met. 

A resident of Getzville, Amy is the mother of two and married Scott Schaefer at Temple Beth Zion in October 2011.

miriam has been a member of TBZ since she was a child. Miriam is a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker and Office Manager for RealtyUSA.com. She is also Vice President of New York State Education Foundation for NYSAR.

miriam is currently the Chair of the Social Action Committee. Over the past 29 years, she has participated on numerous committees including, but not limited to, Rabbi Liaison, Rabbinic Search, Education and Pre-school Committees. She is a Life Member of the Temple Beth Sisterhood.

In the WNY Community, miriam has been involved with Yad b'Yad, Jewish Federation, United Way, Alzheimer's Association, Medaille Education Brainstorming Panel, Food Bank of WNY and the Amherst Senior Center.

Stephen Yonaty

Current Temple Beth Zion Board term expires: May 2013

Stephen L. Yonaty is a partner at Cannon Heyman & Weiss, LLP where he practices in the areas of affordable, senior and multi-family housing, real estate, commercial and public finance, business restructuring and bankruptcy, and commercial litigation law. He and his wife, Kim, reside in East Amherst with their 4 children, each of whom has attended (or will attend) PALS.

Stephen is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Erie County Bar Association. He is also active in several philanthropic and community organizations where he serves as director, trustee and/or officer. In 2003, the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies presented Stephen with the Ann & Meyer Riwchun Young Leadership Award.
